Guesthouse OC is a small family run, Japanese like, hotel. The vicinity of Kawaguchi bus and train station is a strong reason when choosing OC. You can walk to or from the station in about 5 minutes. The location is also close to the main attraction in the area: Kawaguchi Lake (Kawaguchiko) and Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, again some 10-20 minutes walking time each. Supermarkets and restaurants, all are accessible by walking. The hotel itself is small, few rooms (less than 10) with a sufficient number of WC and shower rooms to be shared by the visitors in the commun area. We enjoyed staying in a Japanese style room, very close to a Ryokan style hotel. For a westerner this room may be less comfortable but if you agree to test it it may be a very pleasant experience. The hotel is equipped with everything needed for a relaxing sojourn and, what's most important, the hotel is well maintained and absolutely clean. The owner family is very friendly and supportive. Being a Japaneze style hotel, there may be some particularities like the less phonic insulation between rooms but once accepted this and if you are lucky having civilised neighbors observing common sense rules for living together this fact is perfectry tolerable. It was the case during our stay there. On top of this, despite the vecinity with a crowded point like a bus/railway station and the surrounding roads, the hotel is particularly quiet, with a rural appearance. During our stay the hotel was under the works for extention but, despite this, we didn't feel it, thanks to the well organized works.

This is the best place we stayed in our time in Japan (3 weeks). It is so welcoming and homely, with really clean facilities including a kitchen, dining area, showers and wash basins. The room was so comfortable and spacious, with great AC and just so many little, well thought out features to make staying there enjoyable, such as big wash basins and 3 toilets on each floor. We used slippers throughout the hotel and left our shoes by the door. We had lots of towels provided, hair dryer, toothbrush - all the amenities! It was such a peaceful, quiet place as they ask for quiet after 9pm but we still could enjoy a beer at the front of the guesthouse on our second night. The staff are so friendly, and, despite not speaking much English, we managed fine. They let us leave our bags there all day on our check out day and we paid 500 yen to use the shower (towel included) around 5pm before catching our bus to Osaka at 8pm. Also gave us free phone charger to use. It is so conveniently located 2 minutes from the station and 7/11, Lawson etc as well as some restaurants, and 15 minutes from the lake. Fab place!

The location is only a 3 minute walk from the station. Full very well equipped kitchen with microwaves for heating up convenience store food. 4 different sizes of glasses for drinks! Nice lounging and sitting area. Place is modern traditional with sliding screens on windows and doorways separating downstairs areas. Largish futon room, with photo instructions how to spread it out. I only spent one night in town but would certainly highly recommend to anyone else as cheapest and best option overall with great location. I stayed on 2nd floor and three toilets upstairs, with four shower rooms all on 1st level but all good.

oh i really love OC. it only took less than 5 minute from Kawaguchi-ko Station. which as closed as if you want to get 7-eleven or Lawson, or any kind of restaurant arround Kawaguchiko St. you can also see Mt. Fuji from your room! the room was clean and they provide tatami which is my very first experience. the staff was so friendly and kind. he inform anything thay i need. you can drop/kepe your lugagge at the hotel so no need to worry about that. they have laundry facilities you can use with the operasional time. they have seperated toilet for women. and all the things here was so clean. i love it!

We had a great stay! The staff were kind and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and had plenty towels and extra blankets. The communal areas were kept very well, plenty fridge space upstairs and down, well stocked kitchen. Shower and bathroom facilities were incredibly clean. Very quiet at night, even though they very kindly provided us with earplugs. The location is fabulous, only a few steps from the bus/train station, lawsons, 7/11. Very close to the lake which makes for a lovely walk. We would definitely stay here again, thank you!
